![]() ![]() Budget Skips have been operating from their waste transfer site, located just outside Shrewsbury in Hanwood, for over nine years. Over the years, we have continually invested in the business, ranging from modern vehicles, fitted with the latest lifting technology, to recycling equipment, to ensure the lowest amount of landfill. The business now accomodates vehicle sizes ranging from 3.5 tonnes to 18 tonne lorries which enables us to offer a range of different size skips from 2 - 40 yards. Along with skips, the business also provides aggregates, a mini digger, a full scrap metal service and, most recently, a drain solutions venture. The company was formed by Wayne & Lorna Culliss over a decade ago and was started by purchasing two used skips and a skip loading back fitted to an ex-BT lorry, which was then hired out to family and friends; since then, Budget Skips has grown year on year. During 2011, Budget Skips invested in a new Mercedes 7.5 tonne lorry and added to our selection of skips, which currently stands in excess of 250. As well as this, the office has been fitted with updated computer systems and is now being run by Mark Hooper and Wayne Culliss, 7.30am - 5pm weekdays, and 8am-1pm on Saturdays. The company's main targets are to provide a reliable and affordable way for both the public and trade to dispose of all types of waste whilst also recycling in as many different ways as possible. Since the business has continued to grow, this has enabled us to carry out numerous different contacts with large construction companies and local organisations although still maintaining the ability to serve the households of Shropshire. We are committed to the local community, and have in the past donated toys for local charities at Christmas, as well as providing Skips for charity projects - most recently, working with MENCAP on a local project. The future for Budget Skips is to move into commercial bins on a larger scale, as well as continual investment in equipment in order to best serve our ever expanding client base. And most importantly, to keep Shropshire recycling! |
